For those of you who know me, I DO NOT have a green thumb. Somehow I killed a bamboo plant a few years ago. Yes, those are hardy and don’t require much attention, but somehow I killed it! Last year I attempted to trim the trees/bushes in my front yard and ended up with poison ivy/oak. I got upset (and super itchy) and paid to have them ALL removed!!
The front of my yard was a clean slate! A few months ago I attempted to plant some flowers and a magnolia tree. It didn’t look bad, but it wasn’t amazing by any means. And then…the weeds came. It’s been hot, I’ve been busy…and needless to say, my landscaping has taken a major back seat. Each year I get at least one car load of wood chips and I haven’t even had a chance to do that this year.
Last week was my birthday and I was in New Jersey visiting family. It was not my first choice of where to celebrate my birthday but sometimes you just have to do what you are told. It was a bit stressful and I was happy to come back home. When I arrived home two of my friends were in front of my house…and my ENTIRE front landscaping had been completely redone!!!! IT LOOKS AMAZING!! I “may” have gotten a little teary! It was by far the BEST GIFT EVER and I have never felt so loved!!! My friend Cassy came up with this amazing plan and got a bunch of friends involved. They spent the weekend I was out of town making my house and landscaping look amazing! She also gave me two photo albums with before, during and after pictures so I could see the progress and everyone had at work! I LOVE it! I have been very good about watering it (speaking of which, I need to go turn the sprinkler off!)
