I feel like I have been neglecting my blog lately. I have posted some articles, but have not written anything lately! I guess life has gotten in the way!
I can not believe it’s already July!! It’s been a busy last couple of weeks. I guess I’ll start at the beginning of June.
The weekend of June 4th I went to the Just for Her Expo at the OP Convention Center. This event has been going on for the past few years but this was my first year attending. It’s like a mini Holiday Mart w/ different vendors selling items or offering services. I had a great time!! And my friend Laura even participated in a work out demonstration!
June 11-12 I attended the first ever Kansas City Word Press Camp. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I signed up but went on the recommendation of friends. The two days were split up into three levels of classes with different topics throughout the day. I learned a lot, but there was a lot of information that was WAY over my head! I haven’t had a chance to put everything to use, but I am not using WordPress solely for my blogging vs. blogspot! (baby steps!) And also met some GREAT people!!
June 18th I hosted Cassy’s Bridal Shower & Bachelorette party. We had a blast! We had the shower at my house in the afternoon, went and got makeovers from Jared at Nordstrom then heading to Harrah’s for dinner, gambling and dancing! Everyone had a great time!!
The weekend of June 25th I finally found time to head back home to St Louis for the weekend. I hadn’t been home since Thanksgiving!!! My friend Julie went with me so I had someone to talk to on the boring drive! I got to see family, friends and even hosted a purse party! It’s always great to go home!
July 4th weekend was my first weekend to relax!! I went to a bbq at Cassy’s, dinner at the Nelson’s and relaxed the rest of the time! Maddie HATES the fireworks so we had a few long nights while I tried to calm her down.
July 8th I helped put together the first ever Diva’s Night Out sponsored by Horizon Limos. My awesome friend Taylor owns Horizon and was generous enough to give me a FREE limo for the night so I could invite all my loud mouth, social media lovin’ DIVAS to tweet, facebook and just talk about how great Horizon Limos are. The limos are awesome, so that wasn’t hard!! A few of the girls (including me) got their makeup done by Jared at Nordstroms and hair done by Pinkie Couture to celebrate the event! We also got Johnny’s Tavern in Shawnee & Lew’s Grill & Bar on board to give us drink specials and appetizers. We all had a GREAT time!!!
This weekend I am heading to New Jersey to celebrate a few birthdays. My gram turned 90 in February. My brother turned 30 last month. Today is my dad’s 60th birthday. AND my birthday is on SUNDAY!! Since we are about an hour from Hoboken NJ, I ordered a cake (just a basic sheet cake) from Carlo’s Bakery AKA CAKE BOSS!!!! No worries, there will be pictures of the bakery, the cake and of course the weekend!!!
